November 24th. We've just completed our PCI DSS Cerificate of Compliance. Sounds complicated but it means that you can order items from our website using our Shopping Cart or by phone safe in the knowledge that your card details are safe. That means that if you stumble upon us whilst searching on Google you can either order directly from the website or phone us and order by phone! Safely and securely!! If you have stumbled across us and don't live in the UK you may like to know that in the past week alone we have sent books, videos and magazines to Poland, the USA, Hungary, Australia, Singapore and even Jersey.

November 1st 2011. If you know anyone in the Kelso area who finds it difficult to get out and about please let me know. I have a huge selection of fiction books which they can browse through. They can borrow some of the books for a week or two. Free of charge!

September 21st 2011. As always I'm on the scrounge for all sorts of things!! I'm looking for bookcases, old 35mm slides, any old ice-hockey, football, snooker or speedway programmes and books etc.
 
September 2nd. The Crossing Borders Art Trail takes place from today to Sunday. Over 90 artists and galleries across The Borders throw their doors open for you to see them at work. Next door to my bookshop is Graeme Walker's forge. Sadly, the official programme for the event has placed him on the road to Yetholm but I can assure you that not only is he next door to me (on the road from Kelso to Stichill) but also that he is definitely worth visiting. His work is stunning!! Oh, and you can buy some books here too!
 
August 20th. I recently got hold of one of my favourite childhood games "Crossfire". Now the little bookworms have been prised away from their TVs and consoles and are playing it all the time! So.... I am now on the scrounge for "Rebound" and "Chutes Away", two more superb 70s games. If anyone has these and no longer wants them I'll happily swap them with you for loads of books!!
 
August 17th. I spend most of my time browsing through thousands of books, magazines and fanzines and putting them on my website. Every so often I get a book which I can't put down...
 
I have a couple of copies of Phil Stant's autobiography available. With 300+ pages and photographs, this 2006 First Edition details Phil Stant's career in the army (including The Falklands War) as well as his football career at Reading FC, Hereford United and Cardiff City amongst others. A great read.

July 8th. After the announcement yesterday of the closure of "The News of The World" rumours started that The Sun would be published on Sundays. As a result, sunonsunday domain names were snapped up immediately. As I'd been thinking of a basic information website for our archery group for quite a while I'm now proud to announce that http://www.sunonsunday.tel/ will be our new archery website.
 
July 4th. Had a great weekend of archery at a new archery club in Yetholm and also at the Green Festival in Berwick. If you fancy a go at longbow archery / roving (outdoor) archery please get in touch. Any age, any experience, everyone is very welcome!!

June  30th. Wow! A tiny tornado raced past the shop today, sucking up stones and sticks before disappearing as quickly as it had appeared. The noise was out of all proportion to the action!
 
June 15th. I'm gradually adding a Shopping Cart to the website pages to make purchases easier. I'm currently working on my railway books page.
 
June 12th. A reminder that The Borders Book Festival takes place this week. We'll be open Monday - Saturday from 9.15 - 5.00 and Sunday 19th 11.00 - 2.00. If you'd like to visit us outside these hours please phone us and we'll be happy to open the shop for you!

May 26th. I'm not quite sure what happened last Saturday morning but my hands acted all by themselves - a few naughty mouse-clicks here and there and some Wembley tickets magically appeared through the letterbox yesterday.
 
Therefore the shop will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday (30th) and possibly for a few days afterwards if we win....
 
Shop news. Yes, I've added hundreds more books to the shelves this week, including lots of sports books and an enormous number of fiction.

May 13th 2011. A BIG thank you to the lovely American couple who sent us a book, whilst on their travels through the UK, after a natter in our shop. It will be read with pleasure.

As you have now discovered I've been working on a new website for the past three weeks, which should eventually mean that every item on the website will have its own "buy" button as well as a shopping cart throughout the website, making purchases easier.
